Hemmerle, a brilliant jewelry design house located in Munich, Germany, has long inspired me. Whimsical subjects (falcons and eggplants), bold color combinations and a playful use of materials (concrete and copper) make Hemmerle one of the most creative jewelry design houses out there. Their compositions, though often set with substantial gemstones, do not feel bulky; and the colors, though vivid, are never garish. Notice the interesting ways they set the gemstones (sometimes upside down), the different patinas they apply to the copper, and the realism with which they execute their natural subjects. They have created a trademark style which I hope you will be able to see in this sampling of work I selected. Enjoy!
